It’s time to get serious people!
You know it’s hard to believe that in another 10 days we will be in June! Already 6 months of the new year is upon us and it feels like it was just yesterday when we celebrated the holiday season! With this said, it just seems as though our lives are increasingly on the fast train as we continually add more projects to our plate. Many of us have had to make tough adjustments due to the economy. Whether we’ve taken on a second/third job or we’ve made some drastic cuts in our budget to make ends meet, I think we can all say we know of someone who is feeling this poor economy in one way or another.
This week we are hosting the G-8 summit in Chicago. Many topics are being discussed including what the countries in attendance are doing with their current financial crisis. Out of all of the countries present, the United States is the heaviest in debt and yet our Government continues to just keep giving other countries our money? I mean why do we keep giving President Karzi billions of dollars when we know he is just giving this money to fund our enemy the Taliban? What’s the point here? When will common sense prevail with our Government? Right now we have Greece on the cliff and riots in the streets because people don’t want their retirement age to go past 50 or 55? Are you kidding me?
Obama and Hollande seem to be getting along just find since they share the same socialist ideology of continual spending and taxing the rich. At the end of this year the Bush tax rates will expire and the Democrats and the Obama campaign machine are touting this is needed to make the rich “pay their fair share”. However, what the administration and the Obama loving media won’t tell the American people is the vast majority that will be negatively affected by the expiration of the tax rates will be the middle class!
The Associated Press came out with an article over the weekend to suggest that the GOP is hell bent on making sure Obama is destroyed by rallying for a bad economy! Excuse me, what about our country being destroyed with out of control spending? I mean this didn’t just start with Obama, this goes way back! The Great Society was a starting point and here we are today with more entitlements and more spending but Democrats/Liberals/Progressives say it’s the evil rich that are not paying their fair share! Seriously? I mean you can’t keep up with the spending now and taking all the money from the rich is not going to solve the problem!
Do you notice that several things are amiss with our Government: common sense, honesty and transparency? Common sense tells us regular folk to live by a budget and not spend more than we take in. Common sense also tells us regular folk that we don’t go to our neighbors and ask for their money if we don’t know how to manage our own. You would think our Government would live by those same policies but it is obvious that as long as it is not money out of their own pockets I guess they feel they can pick ours!
We are in a tough situation as a country people. There is no way to sugar coat this mess. It’s been a long time coming and we are at a crossroads and we must either choose to make the hard choices now to save our children’s future, or kick that proverbial ”can” down the road and continue to watch our country go into bankruptcy.
